ECI Error Codes

What are ECI error codes, and what are they used for?

The ECI error codes are codes that Authipay returns when something goes wrong with your transaction.

These error codes are helpful to you as the business owner and us the support team when we are debugging a problem. Usually, if we know what the error code means, we will know how to fix it.

Where can I find these error codes?

A) Authipay Backoffice
You can see the error codes if you check your transaction reports.
Navigate from your Authipay Back Office account > Reports > Transactions > then you’ll have to filter the transactions that you’d want to see.

B) WooCommerce Order notes
The error codes can also be seen from your WooCommerce > Orders > view order screen >order notes.

What are the possible ECI error codes, and what do they mean?

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: N/A
  Transaction will be passed to auth system without any 3dsecure information.
  No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 7

   

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response  code: 7
  Cardholder not enrolled
  No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 6

   

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 6

  Unable to authenticate (ACS not accessible)
  No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 7

   

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 5
  Unable to authenticate (DS not accessible)
  No MC ECI, Visa ECI = 7

   

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 4
  Attempt (ACS cannot tell the result of  authentication)
  MC ECI = 1, Visa ECI = 6

   

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 3
  Auth Failure (Signature verification incorrect) – AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS declines the transaction( “N:-5101:3D Secure authentication failed” )
  No MC or Visa ECI

   

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 2
  Auth Success (no CAAV / UCAF)
  MC ECI = 2, Visa ECI = 5

   

• AUTHIPAY BANK ONLINE PAYMENTS 3dsecure response code: 1
  Auth Success
  MC ECI = 2, Visa ECI = 5
